HJFS mental health supports include individual and group counselling, along with advocacy and community resources. 

All support is confidential. All support is free.

Individual Counselling

Hamilton Jewish Family Services offers mental health counselling for those in need. Services are free and confidential.

Group COUNSELLING

HJFS offers therapeutic groups and community education workshops. Group topics include Stress Reduction, Coping During COVID, Mindfulness, and more.

Drop in counselling for seniors is now available every
Wednesday 9 am – 12 noon and
Thursday mornings via Zoom
with Social Worker, Gabriele McSween.

Hello! I’m Gabriele

Licensed Social worker

My name is Gabriele McSween. I have worked in the field of social work since 1983. I have helped patients face challenges in regards to health issues, palliative care, adaption to changes, marital problems, financial and legal issues and more. I have worked in Longterm Care Homes, including personal visits with members in our community.  I worked extensively with abused women and children facing crisis. I am well versed in providing counseling in the areas of Depression , Anxiety, PTSD, Mood Disorders, Stress Management and Bereavement Issues. I provide online and telephone counseling to individuals and families.
